Building Reliability, Purpose, and Pride in Today’s Workforce
Manufacturing and trades employers depend on a reliable, purpose‑driven workforce with strong character, clear expectations, and a mentoring culture that carries skilled work forward.
The Craftsman with Character® Employee Program adapts our proven character‑development and mentoring model for incumbent employees and supervisors. Over 16 weeks, participants strengthen reliability, accountability, professionalism, communication, and purpose through guided discussion, structured reflection, and real‑workplace mentoring.
The program is rooted in The Craftsman’s Code, a values‑based framework developed in industry and proven in real workplaces.
What the Employee Program Is
The Employee Program is a character‑centered workforce development experience designed for today’s employees and supervisors. It strengthens expectations around conduct, communication, effort, and responsibility while reinforcing pride in skilled work.
Rather than adding another training initiative, the program builds mentoring culture into daily work.
How It Works
Employer Implementation Model
Employers identify teams, departments, or groups of employees who will participate. Sessions are integrated into the workday in a way that aligns with operational needs.
Workplace Mentorship
Employees work alongside experienced team members, learning the legacy of skilled work and strengthening expectations for teamwork, communication, and conduct.
Guided Discussion
Facilitated conversations centered on character, responsibility, professionalism, purpose, and the dignity of skilled work.
Reflection & Growth
Participants reflect on daily experiences, identify strengths and gaps, and develop personal commitments that support long‑term growth and reliability.

Why It Matters
Manufacturing and trades employers report persistent challenges with reliability, communication, accountability, and teamwork at every experience level. The Employee Program addresses these challenges by strengthening the values, expectations, and mentoring culture that drive long‑term workforce stability and performance.
The Employee Program builds on the same principles that power the Student Program, extending character development and mentoring across the entire workforce.
